Beyond our own activities, we want to encourage the creation of a network that brings together all those interested in communicating science through innovative approaches. For this, we are launching the “coffee reimagined”: meetings organized in our lab in Orsay around a coffee and “chouquettes” gathering a dozen people, from creation (illustration, video, animation, photo, design .. .), science (researchers) and communication (communicators from scientific institutions, universities, etc.).

The goal: to present oneself, to tell one’s latest news, to discover other people, to discuss, and to imagine projects together.

Our first “coffee reimagined” takes place in January. And then, we plan to organize every 1 to 2 months.

We are pleased to welcome Nathalie Lidgi-Guigui to our team. She comes with a status of visitor and will be there a few days a week to discover our approach at first, then imagine projects of popularization or pedagogy with us in connection with his own university.

Nathalie is an assistant professor at Paris 13 University where she teaches mainly at the IUTs of Saint Denis and Bobigny. On the research side, she is interested in the properties of nanoparticles, in particular their optical and electronic properties. She is also involved in the search for new pedagogical practices, especially those where science communication can play a role.

Welcome in the team !

The SUPRA! exhibit

From 9/10/2018 to 7/11/2018 at the Quai des Savoirs in Toulouse, opens the exhibition SUPRA!

Coming from our collaboration with designers, this exhibition offers an astonishing and sensitive visit where design is popular, fun, imagine the future and showcases the world of physics and superconductivity. The visitors appropriate the notions of physics, participate in a surprising workshop on levitation, discover many creations from the meeting between physicists and designers.

Co-produced with La Rotonde, the CCSTI of École des Mines Saint-Étienne and the Cité du Design of Saint-Étienne, this exhibition is based on the meeting between physicists and students of art and design schools: ENSCI – Les Ateliers and École Estienne and their achievements.
