With Marjorie, a student in scientific illustration, we wanted to create the coldest Book in the World. We first had to experiment with liquid nitrogen, brushes, mist, cisors and even hair dryers. Then we created to content about the physics of low temperatures and its great discoverers. Marjorie has even devised ways to use ice and frost in his illustrations.
After three months of intense work, we are proud to present the result, halfway between hands-on physics experiments and a scientific book. The video will show you the book in liquid nitrogen and what we did to it. We also created a "hot" book with the pictures of the experiments. And for those who like to think big, we propose an exhibition which can be downloaded.

This work is the result of collaboration between Marjorie Garry, a student at DSAA Design d'Illustration Scientifique of Ecole Estienne and the team "Physics Reimagined"(Laboratoire de Physique des Solides, Université Paris-Sud and CNRS). It received the support of the chair "La Physique Autrement" by the Paris-Sud Foundation and supported by the Air Liquide Group. Translation: Melanie Mora Y Collazo. We thank Pierre Klein for his help over the course of the project, the MOUS group and Vincent Klein from LPS, Dominique Nicolas from Univ.Paris-Sud and Matthieu Lambert from the École Estienne.
